We regularly get asked what shipping materials we actually use for our own FBA business — not as paid promotion, but as what’s ended up staying on our warehouse shelves after several rounds of testing. Here’s the current list.
Boxes: better three sizes than one
We work with the ShipBox shipping box set in three sizes. That cuts down both on wasted material with small items and the risk of larger gadgets not fitting without squeezing. Stocking a single box size for the entire lineup hasn’t worked well for us.
Tape: the one place we don’t cut corners
We used to get more complaints about packages coming open — usually because of brittle cheap tape. Since switching to the PackTape packing tape set, that’s practically stopped happening.
Stapler: the unassuming extra
For extra security on padded mailers and attaching delivery notes to the outside of parcels, we use the StapleFix heavy-duty stapler. It doesn’t replace tape, but it’s a useful addition for certain packaging types.
Paper: the underrated recurring cost
For invoices, delivery notes, and internal warehouse lists, we currently run on OfficePaper A4 copy paper — unremarkable, but with noticeably fewer paper jams than the cheaper alternatives we used before.
To be updated
This list isn’t a fixed set-and-forget — we update it whenever our actual usage changes or we find a product that clearly beats something listed here.
