Our assessment
With security cameras under €50, night vision is usually the first thing that gets compromised. The NestCam Indoor is one of the few models in this price range where we could still make out faces and license plates in the field of view at night — not just rough outlines.
Motion detection can be split into zones, so a busy street outside the window, for example, doesn’t constantly trigger alerts. That noticeably cuts down false alarms compared to simpler models without zone control.
Important for the buying decision: without a cloud subscription, footage can only be stored and reviewed on a microSD card inside the camera itself — that’s enough for most personal use cases, but it should be clear before you buy.
