On the Road to the Wholesaler: Our Mobile Car Setup

Part of our stock sourcing doesn’t happen on a screen, it happens on the highway: regular trips to wholesalers and distributors, where we look at stock in person, compare prices, and decide on the spot what comes with us. The phone runs almost constantly during those trips — navigation, price-comparison apps, calls back to the office. Three small things turned out to matter more than expected.

The phone mount: a return-prone product we run ourselves, constantly

Car phone mounts are one of the most complained-about products in our own catalog — usually because the suction cup lets go after a few weeks. Charging on the road: why one power brick stopped being enough

On multi-day sourcing trips — trade fairs or more distant wholesalers with an overnight stay — we used to pack three separate chargers: phone, laptop, earbud case. Between checking pallets and photographing stock for questions back to the office, our phone ends up on the concrete floor of a wholesale warehouse more often than we’d like.
